University of Maryland Eastern Shore senior Saisha Woodward and freshman Marcus Brown were chosen as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Track and Field Athletes of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.
Woodward (Sr., Atlanta, Ga.) broke the school record and took home first place honors in the weight throw with a 15.78m (51-09.25) toss at the Coach O Collegiate Invitational. Woodward also finished in second in the shot put with a 13.62m (44-08.25 ft.) throw.
Brown (Fr., Gaithersburg, Md.) won two individual titles at the Coach O Collegiate Invitational. Brown broke the school record in the weight throw with a 14.63m (48-00.00 ft.) toss and won the title in the shot put with a 15.92m (52-02.75 ft.) throw.
Other Top Performers:
Predist Walker (Ham) won the long jump with a leap of 7.25m (23-09.50 ft.) and finished in second in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.06. He was also among the top 25 finishers in the 200m (22.66) at the Kent State Golden Flash Invite.
