Shane Smith, Julius Coleman and the Coppin State 4x800-meter relay team each earned a first-place finish on Saturday at the Hampton Invitational at the Boo Williams Sportsplex.
Smith captured first place in the pole vault competition as he cleared 14-11 marking his second indoor title of the season. He won the pole vault at the Navy Invitational in the Eagles first meet of the year.
Coleman led a one-two Coppin State finish in the 800 meters by placing first in 1:56.68, while teammate Jieutonne Archer placed second in 1:57.00.
The Eagles 4x800-meter relay team also posted a first-place finish as they completed the race in 7:46.90, which ranks as a season-best performance.
Dale Dunn posted a season-best time of 4:28.53 in placing sixth in the mile and Brandon Miles finished 11th in the long jump with an effort of 22-2.25.
