Delaware State University sophomore Kendra Mayers and Norfolk State University sophomore Aramis Massenburg were chosen as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Track and Field Athletes of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.
Mayers (So., Brooklyn, New York) won three individual titles and helped the Lady Hornets to a second-place finish in team standings at the Delaware Winter Invitational. She recorded a season-best mark of 5.50m (18-00.50 ft.) in the long jump and leaped 11.10m (36-05 ft.) in the triple jump. On the track, the sophomore won the 400m dash with a time of 58.71 and was the anchor of the 4x400m relay team that finished in third place with a time of 4:11.89.
Massenburg (So., Ettrick, Virginia) provisionally qualified for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships with a second-place finish in the 60m hurdles at the Virginia Tech Invitational. He ran personal-best and school-record time of 7.87, which ranks first in the MEAC this season. The sophomore also ran the second leg of the 4x400m relay that finished among the top ten with a time of 3:26.08.

Tarrish Alexander (NCAT) captured the gold with a leap of 7.73m (25-04 ? ft.) at the Virginia Tech Invitational.
Ronnie Ash (B-CU) provisionally qualified for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships and set a meet-record with a time of 7.88 in the 60m hurdles at the Penn State Relays.
Damon Dixon (HAM) earned second-place honors with a 1.95m (6-04 ? ft.) leap in the high jump at the Virginia Tech Invite.
Jerrine Foster (NCAT) won the shot put with a toss of 13.68m (44-10 ? ft.) at the Virginia Tech Invite.
Merrecia James (UMES) earned two first-place finishes (mile run, distance medley) and one second-place finish (4x400m relay) at the Coach O Invitational.
Leslie Murray (DSU) aided the Hornets to a third place finish at the Delaware Winter Invitational with a 6.87m (22-06 ? ft.) leap in the long jump.
Marcus Stephens (SCSU) provisionally qualified for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships with a 15.42m (50-70 ft.) triple jump mark.
Dakari Taylor-Watson (MSU) finished among the top five in three events including the long jump (6.50m; 21-04 ft.), high jump (1.90m; 6-02. ? ft.) and triple jump (14.14m; 46-04 ? ft.) at the George Mason Father Diamond Invite.
Jessica Tongue (B-CU) earned a second-place finish in the 60m dash with a time of 7.67 and ran the opening leg of the 4x400m relay team that also took home a second-place honor.
Raquel Vassell (HAM) won the 60m dash with a time of 7.50 at the Virginia Tech Invitational.
