Tanisha Kendrick’s outstanding run through the USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships came to an end on Sunday afternoon, as she placed eighth in the 400 meter dash finals at Ohio State’s Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
Kendrick, who entered last weekend’s championships ranked seventh in the country in the 400 meter dash on the junior level, finished with a time of 55.41, five-tenths of a second behind North Carolina’s Christine Johnson, who placed seventh.
Jessica Beard of Texas A&M, who last year set an Owens Memorial Stadium record with a time of 51.63, captured the 400 title with a time of 52.23.
