North Carolina A&T State University sophomore Kimona Smith and Coppin State University junior Steve Delice were chosen as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Track and Field Athletes of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.
Smith (So., Kingston, Jamaica) leaped to a first-place finish in the triple jump with a soar of 12.69m (41-07.75 ft.) at the Murray Neely Invitational, which is the highest MEAC mark in the triple jump this outdoor season. Smith also finished second in the long jump with a 5.81m (19-00.75 ft.) jump.
Delice (Jr., Brooklyn, New York) qualified for the NCAA Regionals and set a school record with a victory in the 400m hurdles. His first-place time of 50.94 is the seventh fastest 400m hurdles time in the nation and third in the east region. Delice also finished second in the 400m with a time of 47.49

Jennifer Chichester (NSU) ran the fastest MEAC 1500m run time of the outdoor season with a time of 4:38.40 at the Florida Relays.
Daniel Kinney (How) won the 100m hurdles (14.39) and was third in the 400m hurdles (53.15) at the Colonial Relays.
Indira Laurencin (CSU) posted personal best times of 24.52 and 55.86 in the 200m and 400m dashes, respectively, at the at the Duke Invitational.
Vivian McCollum (MSU) won the 1500m run with a time of 4:46.34 at the Duke Invitational.
Calesio Newman (NCAT) qualified for the NCAA Regionals with a first place finish and a time of 10.53 in the 100m dash.
Jonathan Soimo (NSU) captured the gold in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 9:49.31 at the Murray Neely Invitational.
