Franklin Qualifies for NCAAs At Florida Meet

 Delaware State University’s Nekisha Franklin qualified for the NCAA outdoor regional championships in the 200-meter dash.

Franklin exceeded the qualifying standard during a fourth place finish in the 200 at the Florida Relays this weekend. The NCAA regional qualifying time is 23.90 and she completed the course in 23.72.

Delaware State’s Cuquie Melville was sixth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:01.08, just shy of the NCAA regional qualifying mark. Franklin and Melville also helped lead the Hornets to a fifth place finish in the 1600 Sprint Medley. Ashley Blake and Kendra Mayers rounded out the sprint medley team, which posted a time of 4:02.39.
