The Delaware State men’s outdoor track and field team had a strong showing at the Florida Relays this weekend, highlighted by a first place finish in the sprint medley relay, a school record in the 800-meter relay and two NCAA regional qualifications for Larrone Moore.
The Hornets were the top collegiate team in the sprint medley. The team of Moore, Lee Barnes, Andre Easton and Donte Holmes completed the course in 3:20.32. Maryland was second at 3:20.56. Delaware State’s 800-meter relay team of Moore, Easton, Barnes and Duke Mack turned in a school record time of 1:24.50 during a third place finish. Moore qualified for the NCAA East Regionals in the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. He posted a time of 10.50 seconds in the 100 and 21.23 in the 200. Holmes was also third in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:50.45.
Delaware State’s 4x800-meter relay team of Alan Laws, Chris Walker, Daeshon Davidson and Michael Taylor also turned in a third place finish (7:39.87).
