BOSTON -- Coppin State junior Steve Delice met the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships provisional standard in the 400 meters, and also broke his own school record in the event, during competition at the IC4A Indoor Championships on Saturday.
Delice finished second overall in the preliminary heats in a time of 47.05, which easily met the qualifying standard of 47.25 and advances him to Sunday's championship round.
Delice also broke his own school record in the event which he had set last week at the New York University Fastrack Invitational when he ran 47.60.
Delice also ran the opening leg on the Coppin State 4x400-meter relay team which advanced to the finals after finishing seventh in 3:11.23.
Jieutonne Archer also earned a berth in the 500 meter final as he placed third overall in the preliminaries in 1:02.19.
