University of Maryland Eastern Shore senior Tanisha Wisdom and Delaware State junior Larrone Moore were selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Track and Field Athletes of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.
Wisdom (Sr., St. Catherine, Jamaica) provisionally qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships with a first-place time of 54.37 in the 400-meter dash at the Great Dane Classic in New York, NY. Wisdom ran the anchor of the 4X400-meter relay team that captured the gold with a time of 3:47.66. She also ran the anchor leg of the distance medley team that broke the school record with a time of 12:14.19. As a team, the Lady Hawks finished fourth among 20 competing teams. This is the third time this season that Wisdom has earned Track and Field Athlete of the Week accolades.
Moore (Jr., Hyattsville, Maryland) won the 60-meter relay with a time of 6.84 seconds at the Great Dane Classic in New York, NY. It was the third time in four outings this season that Moore has won the gold. He also finished first in the 200-meter relay for the second time this season with a time of 21.93. Moore has earned Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors twice this season.

Nekisha Franklin (DSU) earned two first-place finishes in the 60-meter dash (7.52) and the 200-meter dash (24.39) at the Great Dane Classic.
Tanisha Jenkins (NSU) jumped a season-best 11.92m (39-01.25 ft.) in the triple jump event at the Penn State National Invitational.
Amon Kiprotich (UMES) finished second in the 3,000?meter race with a personal best time of 8:37.64 at the Great Dane Classic.
Rockel Mitchell (B-CU) became the first Wildcat in four years to provisionally qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships with a 6.15m (20-02.25 ft.) leap in the long jump at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational.
Carlton Phipps (NSU) ran a personal best in the 500-meter dash at the Penn State National Invite with a time of 1:03.88.
Joel Redhead (B-CU) secured a second-place finish with a time of 47.86 in the 400-meter dash at the Florida Tom Jones Memorial Invite.
Avionne Sloane (MSU) won first-place in the 500-meter race with a time 1:15.12 at the Penn State Invite.
Alexandria Spruiel (NCAT) broke the school record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.62 at the Penn State National Invitational.
