NORFOLK, Va. — Maryland Eastern Shore junior Khalil Rmidi Kinini and Hampton senior Ce’aira Brown were chosen as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s and Women’s Track Athletes of the Week. Bethune-Cookman’s Michael Tiller and Maryland Eastern Shore’s Shauntel Lucius were named the MEAC Men’s and Women’s Field Athletes of the Week, the conference announced today.
Kinini (Jr., Malaga, Spain) competed in two events at the Navy Spring Invitational. He won in the 10,000m run and set a school record with a time of 31:37.65.
Brown (Sr., Philadelphia, Pa.) took first-place in the 4x400m relay at the Raleigh Relays. She also broke her own school record in the 1,500m run with a time of 4:28.23.
Tiller (r-Jr., Gibsonton, Fla.) won the triple jump, with a jump of 15.97m, at the Hurricane Twilight Invitational. He is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation in the triple jump.
Lucius (Jr., Newark, N.J.) placed first at the Navy Spring Invitational. She won in the long jump with a jump of 5.36m.

Tasia Baxter (NSU) set a new personal record in the pole vault, with a mark of 3.35m (10-11.75 ft).
Naje Benton (UMES) recorded a first-place finish in the long jump, with a leap of 7.35m, at the Navy Spring Invitational.
Cynthia Chelelgo (FAMU) garnered a first-place finish in the 5,000m run, with a time of 17:42.56, at the Florida State University Relays.
Kristen Deacon (CSU) set a new personal record in the discus throw, with a throw of 39.95, at the Maryland Invitational.
Loundy Desire (UMES) took first-place in three events at the Navy Spring Invitational.
Allan Frye (NSU) was the top collegiate finisher in the 400m hurdles, with a time of 52.33, at the Fred Hardy Invitational.
Trey Holloway (HAM) placed second in the sprint medley, at the Raleigh Relays.
Tristie Johnson (B-CU) finished third in the 100m dash, at the Hurricane Twilight Invitational.
Alexis Marsh (CSU) took fourth-place, at the Maryland Invitational, in the 400m event.
Jonathan Moore (B-CU) won the 400m dash, with a time of 46.48, at the Hurricane Twilight Invitational.
Clifton Thompson (NSU) registered a third-place finish in the discus throw, at the Fred Hardy Invitational.
Akassja White (B-CU) placed third in the discus throw, at the Hurricane Twilight Invitational.
