MEAC ANNOUNCES WEEKLY OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD HONORS - MEACsports.com - The Official Site of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference

NORFOLK, Va. – Maryland Eastern Shore’s Khalil Rmidi Kinini and South Carolina State’s Karissa Bertling were chosen as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track Athletes of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday. Maryland Eastern Shore’s Dillon Simon and Jailah Mason of Morgan State were named the MEAC Men’s and Women’s Field Athletes of the Week.

Rmidi Kinini (Sprints, So., Malaga, Spain) set a school-best time of 9:02.84, in the 3000m steeplechase, to capture first at the Penn Relays.

Bertling (Sprints, Sr., Port Richey, Fla.) captured first with a personal-best time of 55.91 in the 400m at the Winthrop Carolina’s Cup. She also won the 200m with a time of 24.55.

Simon (Thrower, Sr., Roseau, Dominica) finished fifth in the shot put, with a mark of 18.93m (62.10 ft.), at the Penn Relays.

Mason (Jumper, Jr., Trinidad and Tobago) won the high jump, at the Penn Relays, with a school-record height of 1.82m (6.00.5 ft.).

Jeffrey Jones (SCSU) won the 200m, with a time of 21.40, at the Winthrop Carolina’s Cup.
