Dr. Zaneta Ivy-Bailey joined the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) in April 2023, and she enters her first year as the Associate Commissioner for Administration and Compliance.

Dr. Ivy-Bailey has 20 years of experience coordinating Student-Athlete Academic Support offices, compliance departments, managing full-time academic coordinators, interns and graduate assistants. Dr. Ivy-Bailey has a strong background in compliance, student-athlete welfare and support services, including Title IX matters. She has coordinated NCAA compliance monitoring, served on compliance committees with multiple constituents and served as the University of Memphis Staff Senate President.

Dr. Ivy-Bailey comes to the MEAC from the University of Memphis, where she was the Director of Compliance, overseeing the compliance needs of sports such as men's and women's basketball, football, softball, men's tennis and women's golf.

Before her time at the University of Memphis, Dr. Ivy-Bailey spent over five years as an Assistant Athletics Director for Academics at Howard University, overseeing the academic support services and providing oversight of the compliance program. She was responsible for implementing comprehensive department academic standards that yielded an overall GPA increase for five straight years and also implemented annual community service initiatives, leading to student-athlete engagement.

Dr. Ivy-Bailey also spent years at Florida International University, the University of Utah, and Arkansas.

Dr. Ivy-Bailey is a member of the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A), the National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC) and an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Dr. Ivy-Bailey was a track & field student-athlete at the University of Memphis, graduating in 2002 with a degree in Exercise and Sport Science. Dr. Ivy-Bailey received her master's degree in Education with a concentration in Sports Management in 2005 from the University of Arkansas and received her Doctor of Education in Global Sport Leadership from East Tennessee State University in 2020.

Dr. Ivy-Bailey resides in Memphis, Tenn., with her husband, Andrew Bailey, a program management manager for Google Operations Center (GOC) and adjunct professor at the University of Memphis.
