Sutton, Wyatt Tafoya, Cesley Thompson, Lynn Thompson, Lynn Destinee Wright Title Coordinator of External Affairs & Administrative Services Email Phone 2055 Destinee Wright became the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's (MEAC) administrative assistant in February 2020, after serving the conference as an athletics administration intern starting in September 2019. As of January 2022, she is now the MEAC's Coordinator of External Affairs & Administrative Service. Wright returned to the MEAC after having been a volunteer during the conference's 2019 Basketball Tournament, assisting in marketing and gameday operations. As part of her current role, Wright assists the Commissioner directly and provides support to the conference staff and office operations. As the country began recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, Wright conceptualized and co-organized the sold out 2021 Air Force Reserve Basketball Tournament Watch Party to provide an opportunity for fans to enjoy the tournament together at a safe distance. She also assisted in organizing and creating social media graphics for the Conference’s 2020 Rock the Vote initiative. Among the conference’s 11 member institutions, a total of 1,233 students were registered to vote. Wright served as a compliance intern at the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) in 2011 and interned at her alma mater, Hampton University, in athletic compliance (spring 2019). During this time, she also interned at the Hampton Family YMCA assisting the Wellness Team with marketing and events such as swim meets and the Annual Triathlon. Between 2017 and 2019, Wright served as the head coach for Tabb High School's varsity and junior varsity sideline cheerleading teams. The Hampton, Va., native was a member of the Hampton University Blue Thunder Cheerleading Team. During her time at HU, she was a team captain and Miss Blue Thunder 2013. In 2015, Wright earned a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from Hampton University. After receiving the degree, she served as the Social Media Coordinator at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Wright returned to her home by the sea and earned a Master’s degree in sports administration in 2019.
