WASHINGTON (April 10, 2026) — On April 11, the Howard University track & field program will be teaming up with Gallaudet University to host the fourth annual Bison Classic. This one-day event will be hosted at the Thomas O. Berg Track on Gallaudet's campus.

This event serves as HU Track & Field's Senior Day where senior athletes will be recognized for their contributions to the program, Howard Athletics and The University as a whole.

BISON WATCH - MEN
Graduate
Abraham Evans (Virginia Beach, Va.) sits fifth in the MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) 100-meter dash (10.49). Senior
Dylan Gaines (Houston) is third in the 200-meter dash (21.07).
In first (46.45), second (46.50) and fifth places (47.04), respectively, in the 400-meter dash are juniors
Elijah Grant (Fort Mill, S.C.) and
Jayvian Greene (Gainesville, Fla.) and senior
Emerson McKindra (Linden, N.J.).
In the 800-meter run, sophomore
Ashton Thomas (Greensboro, N.C.) is currently in second place (1:51).
In the 110-meter hurdles, senior
Jorim Bangue (Yaoundé, Cameroon) is first (14.01) and freshman
Jabari Dillard (Cross Hill, S.C.) sits fourth (14.26).
In the 400-meter hurdles, freshman
Joseph Williams (Alpharetta, Ga.) is fourth in the conference (54.49).
The 4x100 relay team consisting of Evans, Gaines and freshmen
Armond Boulware (Chicago) and
Mihaly Akpamgbo are third in the league (40.75).
Additionally, the 4x400 relay team consisting of Greene, Grant, McKindra and Gaines are first with a time of 3:08.
Sophomore
Drew Dillard (Silver Spring, Md.) holds the top spot in the high jump (2.15 meters). Fifth-year
Sean Wray (Stafford, Va.) holds first place in the long jump (7.22 meters) and triple jump (15.35 meters), respectively.
Sophomore
Tarike Lavine (Bridgetown, Barbados) is third (44.3 meters) in the discus and fourth in the hammer throw. Sophomore
Solomon Young (Charlotte, N.C.) is first in the hammer throw (50.88-meter).
BISON WATCH - WOMEN
In first (11.18), second (11.36), fourth (11.45) and fifth (11.59), respectively, in the 100-meter dash are juniors
Yahnari Lyons (Hampton, Ga.) and
Mackenzie Robinson (Ypsilanti, Mich.), freshman
Nilijah Darden (Greensboro, N.C.) and third-year Bison
Aiyana Gray-Williams (Winston-Salem, N.C.). In the 200-meter dash rankings, in first (22.82), second (23.72), third (23.79) and fifth place (23.89), respectively, are Lyons, Darden, Robinson and Gray-Williams.
In the 400-meter dash, senior
Zoe Turner (Mableton, Ga.) and sophomores
Cenaiya Billups (Denver) and
Tiffany Mugubi (Houston) are first (54.01), second (54.49) and third (55.74), respectively. Mugubi also holds the top spot (2:05) in the 800-meter run.
Freshman
Alexis Jones (New Windsor, N.Y.) is first (4:29) in the 1500-meter run and sophomore
Ester Kirk (Morristown, N.J.) is second (4:46).
In first (13.06), third (13.27), fourth (13.38) and fifth (13.47), respectively, for the 100-meter hurdles are graduate student

Carrie Vannoy (Oak Park, Mich.) (1:00) are first, second, third and fifth, respectively.
Both the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams are ranked first in the conference with marks of 43.95 and 3:34, respectively. The 4x100 team consists of Gray-Williams, Sey, Lyons and Robinson. The 4x400 team consists of Turner, Woodruff, Billups and Johnson.
In triple jump, seniors
Kelis Armstrong (Plano, Texas) and
Ija Mumford (Winston-Salem, N.C.) hold the third (12.13 meters) and fifth (11.81m), respectively. Armstrong also holds the third in the long jump (5.75 meters).
Senior
Temi Banwo (Allen, Texas) holds the top spot in shot put (14.25) and second place in the discus (43.81) and hammer throw (45.88).
Sophomore
Kinnidi Hampton (Rowlett, Texas) holds third in shot put (12.63) and discus (40.24) and fourth in the hammer throw (44.35).
LAST TIMEOUT
On April 2-4, HU competed at the annual Texas Relays.
On the men's side, J. Dillard took first place in the 110-meter hurdles with a 14.57 mark.
For the women, Robinson won the 100-meter dash while Vannoy claimed gold in the 400-meter hurdles (1:00.77).
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
Next weekend (April 17-18), HU heads down to Gainesville, Fla., to compete in the Tom Jones Memorial, hosted by the Florida Gators.
