NORFOLK, Va., Feb. 3, 2026 -- Howard junior Michael Major Jr. has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, while Norfolk State, freshman Patryk Kowal, earned MEAC Rookie of the Week honors.  

Major Jr. (Jr., Nassau, Bahamas) scored the squad’s lone point in singles competition, before going on to defeat Georgetown’s Arthur O’Sullivan in a thrilling three-set match, (1-6, 7-5, 6-3). 

Kowal (Fr., Krakow, Poland) earned a hard-fought victory at No. 1 singles, defeating ODU sophomore Jean-Karim Olivier de Sardan in three sets, (7-6, 4-6, 10-8).
