The University of Maryland Eastern Shore announces 2025-2026 men's basketball schedule

Hawks release 2025-2026 schedule
 

PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland | The University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's basketball team has finalized the full 2025-2026 schedule.
 
Entering the second season under head coach Cleo Hill, Jr., the Hawks will compete in 17 non-conference games and 14 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) contests. UMES will be on the road for 21 games and hosting 10 games in the Hytche Athletic Center.
 

NOVEMBER

UMES has assembled one of the most competitive non-conference schedules in the country. The Hawks open up the season with a southern trip to Atlanta, Georgia to face Georgia Tech on Nov. 3 followed by a matchup against SEC power Georgia on Nov. 5 in Athens.NON CONFERENCE SCHEDULE
 
The Hawks return to campus for the UMES Homecoming celebration while hosting Cheyney (PA) on Nov. 8.
 
UMES heads to the Cornhusker state to play Big Ten opponent Nebraska on Nov. 11 and Big East perennial contender Creighton on Nov. 14. The Hawks face Longwood for the third consecutive season on Nov. 18 in Farmville, Va. followed by a trip to Buffalo, New York to face Canisius on Nov. 21 and Binghampton on Nov. 22. The Hawks will host former MEAC opponent Hampton on Nov. 25 marking the first meeting between the two HBCUs since 2018. Gynedd Mercy comes to the Hytche Center on Nov. 29 in the final game of November.
 

DECEMBER

The Hawks are on the road throughout the entire month of December. The travel schedule starts up with a trip to Greenville, North Carolina when the Hawks face East Carolina. UMES is in the nation's capital on Dec. 6 to play American before traveling to Charlotteville, Va. for a matchup against ACC opponent Virginia. The Hawks remain on the road on Dec. 12 to face another former MEAC program in North Carolina A&T. On Dec. 14, UMES faces another ACC opponent in Virginia Tech at Blacksburg, Va.
 
UMES returns to the east coast with a contest in Staten Island, New York against Wagner on Dec. 17. Another contest against the SEC follows when the Hawks travel to Austin to play the University of Texas which wraps up the non-conference schedule.
 

JANUARY

The remainder of the season includes all games against MEAC programs. The Hawks open conference play at home on Jan. 3 against Morgan State. Howard comes to the Hytche Center on Jan. 10. UMES travels down Route 13 to defending MEAC tournament champion Norfolk State on Jan. 12 before returning home to play Coppin State on Jan. 17. The Hawks travel south to play at South Carolina State on Jan. 24 and North Carolina Central on Jan. 26.  On Jan. 31, UMES makes the short drive north to play at Delaware State on Jan. 31.Men's MEAC Schedule 25 26
 

FEBRUARY

UMES will have a full week before a trip to Morgan State on Feb. 7 and another week before a Valentine's Day contest against Howard on Feb. 14. Norfolk State comes to UMES on Feb. 16 and UMES heads to Coppin State on Feb. 21. The Hawks welcome SCSU to Princess Anne on Feb. 28 to conclude the month of February.
 

MARCH

The Hawks end the regular season with two home games before tournament play. North Carolina comes to UMES on March 2 followed by the season finale against Delaware State on March 5.
This year's MEAC Tournament will be held at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Va. beginning on March 11 with the championships taking place on March 14.
