DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University quarterback Walker Harris was named HBCU National Player of the Week on Monday, as named by Stats Perform.
Harris had his best game of the 2025 season this past Saturday evening in a 49-19 win over Fayetteville State. He accounted for four touchdowns – three through the air, one on the ground – while completing 23 of 36 passes for a career-high 387 yards.
He connected with eight different receivers as the Eagles racked up 499 yards of total offense, and each wideout hauled in at least two catches.
Harris is the second Eagle to earn a national HBCU accolade so far this season; following NCCU's season-opening victory over Southern in the Cricket MEAC/SWAC Challenge Kickoff, running back Chris Mosley was named BOXTOROW's HBCU National Player of the Week.
The Stats Perform HBCU National Team of the Week was the Eagles' opponent this weekend: North Carolina A&T. The Aggies come into the annual Aggie-Eagle Classic having defeated Hampton in double overtime.
Saturday's game will kick off from Truist Stadium at 4 p.m., and it will air live on FloFootball.
