Martin Upgrades Roster for Upcoming Season with New Additions

ORANGEBURG, SC--- South Carolina State head men's basketball coach Erik Martin has announced the additions of eight (8) Bulldogs to the roster for the upcoming 2025-26 season.
 
Noah Treadwell (6'5, SG) – Noah is a native of Atlanta, GA and comes from Middle Georgia Prep (same prep school as former Bulldog Mitch Taylor). Treadwell posted a program record 108 3-point field goals made, while averaging 17 points and five rebounds, and shooting 42% from behind the arc.
 
MARTIN ON NOAH: Noah comes in with the reputation of an elite 3-point shooter, last year making over 105 shots. He is great size and is an underrated athlete.
 
TREADWELL ON WHY I CHOSE SC STATE: I chose SC State because they have a good basketball program, the coaches made me feel welcomed, and they are giving me the best opportunity to display my ability.
 
Chris Parker (6'6, Forward) - Chris a native of Columbia, SC comes from Atlantic Cape Community College, where he had a phenomenal career averaging 21 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and earned Gardner State Athletic Conference Player of the Year honors. Parker eclipsed the 1000-career mark and earned Honorable Mention All-American, First Team All-Region and finished his career as the All-Time Leading scorer in school history.
 
MARTIN ON PARKER: "Chris is a multi-talented player that can play both guard and forward positions. He is a tireless worker that should make an impact right away for the Bulldogs."
 
PARKER ON WHY I CHOSE SC STATE: I chose South Carolina State because it's in my home state, and I love the strong sense of family within the community. I also appreciate how the coaches give me a real opportunity to showcase my skills.
 
Owen Bronston (6'5, Shooting Guard) – Owen is an Ohio native coming from Edison State Community college, where he averaged 26 points and six rebounds last season with 90 3-pointers made.
 
MARTIN ON BRONSTON: Obie is a big guard that can make shots and create for his teammates. He's a combo guard with a high basketball IQ and will be in the wing position.
 
BRONSTON ON WHY I CHOSE SC STATE: I chose SC State because God led me there, the coaches treated me like family, & I know I can reach my goals here with this coaching staff.
 
Braden Moore (6'3, Point Guard) – Braden is a native of Leesburg, HA and graduate from Lee County High School in Albany, Georgia, where he was Region Player of the Year, 5A Georgia Basketball Coaches Association Men's Player of the Year as well as Albany Player of the Year.
 
MARTIN ON MOORE: Brendon Is a point guard with flash and savvy as well as being an elite player with a very high basketball IQ. He can also create his own shot and can score when needed in rotation.
 
MOORE ON WHY I CHOSE SC STATE: My dream was to attend a HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) and that's why I choose SC State because the coaching staff welcomed me in as family and treated me with respect. My goals as a freshman are to contribute with hard work and dedication and help this team capture a conference championship and make an appearance in the NCAA Tournament during March Madness.
 
Cam Clark (6'9 Forward) – Cam is a Gwinnet, Georgia native and a transfer from Cal State Bakersfield, who is completing his last year of eligibility as a Bulldog.
 
MARTIN ON CLARK: Cam is an elite athlete that's capable of guarding all positions on the floor. Cam will give us low-post scoring and transition baskets. His versatility will allow him to play the front or back of our press.
 
CLARK ON WHY I CHOSE SC STATE: I chose SC State because of the environment and energy I felt when I was around. I am also connected to the coaching staff well and know they're going to push me to do my best. I have set some personal goals for my senior year, and that is to become First Team All-MEAC, helping the Bulldogs to capture the conference championship outright and make an NCAA Tournament appearance.
 
Derwin Hodge (6'9, Forward) – Derwin is a native from Suwanee, GA and he comes from Peachtree Ridge High school where he was the Region 1A Defensive Player of the Year, 2X 7A Region Champion, Male Student Athlete of the Year and 2x Region A Defensive Player of the Year.
 
MARTIN ON HODGE: Derwin is an athlete with length and can score both inside and outside. His upside is unlimited. He will be great for the front and back of our press.
 
HODGE ON WHY I CHOSE SC STATE:  I chose SC State because it felt like the right place for me both athletically and academically. The coaches showed me a genuine belief in my potential, and I wanted to be part of a program where I could grow and make an impact in my community. SC State is a place I feel in my mind and in my heart is where I belong and can see myself growing as a person and athlete.
 
Tim Okojie (7'0, Center) – A native of Fisco, TX is a transfer from St. Petersburg Junior College, with two years of eligibility remaining.
 
MARTIN ON OKOJIE: Tim's best days are ahead of him. He has only been playing basketball for only four years of his life. He is a rim protector that can score on the block or in transition.
 
OKOJIE ON WHY I CHOSE SC STATE: I chose SC State because of the coaching staff and the way they believed in my potential. They made it clear that they'd challenge me to grow—not just as a player, but as a man. When I went on a visit, I loved the culture, the energy on campus, and how the program felt like family. Also, I believe I can help bring a MEAC championship to this program.
 
Kenny Gaines (6'2, Point Guard) -A native of Lake City, FL is a graduate transfer from University of South Carolina Beaufort where he averaged 12 points, five rebounds and four assists during his career.
 
MARTIN ON GAINES: Kenney is a graduate transfer, and we will look for him to bring big time leadership. He is a tenacious defender that will thrive in the Bulldog press.
 
GAINES ON WHY I CHOSE SC STATE: I chose South Carolina State because of the coaches; they made it feel like home on the visit. It feels like home and a place where I could help prosper. My personal goal for this year is to make the South Carolina State Men's basketball team better on and off the floor.
 
ABOUT SC STATE ATHLETICS
South Carolina State University is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I level intercollegiate athletic program.
