North Carolina def. NC Central 90-42 BOX SCORE | RECAP 

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – North Carolina Central opened the women's basketball season by dropping a non-conference game to nationally-ranked North Carolina at Carmichael Auditorium on Monday morning. 
 
Despite the 90-42 score, the Eagles took away some positives from the contest. Their defense forced 19 UNC turnovers and the bench – led by nine points from Aysia Hinton – scored 29 of NCCU's 42 points.   Aysia Hinton scored nine points on three 3-pointers.  Morgan Callahan had six points and seven rebounds. 


Ole Miss def. Norfolk State, 87-46  BOX SCORE | RECAP 

OXFORD, Miss. --- The Norfolk State women's basketball team opened its season under first-year head coach Jermaine Woods on the road against nationally ranked Ole Miss, falling 87-46 on Monday afternoon. 
  
The Spartans dropped to 0-1, while No. 12 Ole Miss improved to 1-0. 
  
Jasha Clinton led Norfolk State with 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting. Da'Brya Clark added 14 points, while Cire Worley anchored the defense with seven rebounds. Clark followed with four boards. 


Arizona State def Coppin State, 67-53 BOX SCORE | RECAP 

TEMPE, Ariz. – Four Eagles scored in double figures, but the Coppin State women's basketball team dropped its season opener at Arizona State, 67-53, on Monday night at Desert Financial Arena. 
  
Paris McBride led CSU in nearly every statistical category, recording 12 points on 3-of-5 field goals and 5-of-6 free throws to go with six rebounds, five assists a block and a steal. Khila Morris added 11 points with four rebounds and three assists while Erin Henry and Skylar Barnes added ten points apiece.
