MEAC Countdown to Kickoff, presented by Coca-Cola is the MEAC's dedicated football pregame show. When the show debuted in 2021, it marked the first time an NCAA FCS conference had produced its own pregame show. In 2021,
MEAC Countdown to Kickoff was broadcast from select MEAC campuses to highlight the Game of the Week, with hosts Charlie Neal and Nicole Hutchison setting the stage for the day's contests and highlighting institutional excellence at the athletic and academic level.
Since the 2022 season,
MEAC Countdown to Kickoff has been recorded and broadcast from
the MEAC Digital Network studio housed in the conference's Norfolk, Va., headquarters.
MEAC Countdown to Kickoff airs on ESPN+ each Saturday during the conference portion of the MEAC football season, leading into that day's slate of games.
The 2023 season saw the addition of Mitchell Brown and Jasmine McCoy as the hosts of the
MEAC Countdown to Kickoff. Together the pair brought insight to the happenings from around the conference including interviews with football coaches, highlights from previous games and information regarding players to watch, including recaping the weekly honors.
Brown and McCoy return again for the 2024 season kicking off on October 26. More information on the 2024 season will be made available in the near future.
