About the Championship
The 2016 MEAC Men’s Golf Championship will be held Thursday, April 21-Saturday, April 23 in Savannah, Georgia at the Crosswinds Golf Club.
Augusta University (formerly Georgia Regents) captured its first MEAC Men’s Golf Championship as the Jaguars combined to shoot a 19-under par 557 through 36 holes of the tournament. Augusta’s Robin Petersson, who led the field with a 5-under par 67 after day two, was named the Most Outstanding Performer. For the tournament, Petersson carded 12 birdies, two bogies and one double bogey to finish 8-under par 136.
Augusta’s Jack O’Keefe was named Outstanding Coach.
The winner of the 2016 MEAC Men’s Golf Championship will receive an automatic qualification to the NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship. The NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Selection Show will air Thursday, May 5 at 9:30 a.m. on the Golf Channel.
