NORFOLK, Va., Apr. 21, 2026 – Norfolk State freshman Marcin Andrzejczak has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, while Morgan State freshman Ilya Maltsev earned MEAC Rookie of the Week honors. 
 
Andrzejczak (Fr., Lodz, Poland) posted a perfect 4–0 record at the Nat Warren Tennis Invite, capturing the individual tournament title for the Spartans. 
 
Maltsev (Fr., Moscow, Mockba) closed the regular season with a 2–0 mark, earning a key No. 2 singles victory over Howard’s Marcus Weekes and teaming with Abdulraheem Isa for a 6–3 win at No. 1 doubles to secure the sweep. 

Other Top Performers  

• Naresh Bharathy (NCCU) led the Eagles to a 4–0 sweep of Shaw, earning a straight-sets win at No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles. 
• Abdulraheem Isa (MSU) closed the regular season with a 2–0 week, highlighted by a straight-sets singles win and a 6–3 victory at No. 1 doubles against Howard. 
• Shawn Mitchell-Yon (HOW) secured victories in both No. 3 singles and doubles during Howard’s win over Morgan State.
