NORFOLK, Va., Mar. 31, 2026 -- Norfolk State freshman Szymon Janzen has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, while teammate Marcin Andrzejczak earned MEAC Rookie of the Week honors. 
 
Janzen (Fr., Warsaw, Poland) went a perfect 3-0 in singles this week, defeating Coppin State (6-0, 6-0), Howard (6-0, 6-3), and Morgan State (7-6(4), 6-1). In doubles, Janzen teamed with Przemek Nikolajuk to also go 3-0, posting wins over Coppin State (6-1), Howard (6-4), and Morgan State (6-2). 

Andrzejczak (Fr., Lodz, Poland) posted a 3–0 singles record for the week at the MEAC Round-Up, including a three-set comeback over Morgan State’s Rhajzon Rankins, and also recorded a doubles win against Coppin State. 

Other Top Performers

• Naresh Bharathy (NCCU) went 2-1 in singles during the week, recording straight-set wins over Morgan State and Coppin State at No. 1 singles.  

• Santiago Pinna (NCCU) went 2-0 in singles at the MEAC Round-Up, posting wins at No. 4 and No. 3 singles with scores of 6-4, 7-5 and 6-1, 6–2.
