The Morgan State women's tennis team extended its season-long winning streak to six consecutive victories, following a 5-2 defeat of defending Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) champion South Carolina State on Day 2 of the MEAC Round-Up on Sunday afternoon at Folkes Stevens Tennis Center of the campus of Old Dominion.

Morgan State (10–6, 2–0 MEAC) claimed the doubles point by winning two of three matches, highlighted by victories from Michaela Stephens and Julia Jeffrey at No. 2 and Damla Arslan and Tyler Williams at No. 3. Riding that momentum, the Lady Bears secured the overall win by taking four of six singles matches, including a three-set triumph by Stephens at No. 1 and straight-set wins from Amira Bargaoui and Williams. Lauren Hall added a comeback victory at No. 6 singles, rallying after dropping the first set to seal the match.

NC Central def. Coppin State 7-0 BOX SCORE 

North Carolina Central women's tennis earned its first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference victory with a 7-0 win over Coppin State on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles secured their second sweep of the season.

NCCU (5-8, 1-1 MEAC) bounced back at the MEAC Round-Up by claiming the doubles point. Patricia Palencia and Sara Barbaric earned a 6-3 victory at No. 1 doubles, while the Eagles also won the No. 3 doubles point.

The Eagles dominated the remainder of the match, winning all singles contests in straight sets. After a default victory at No. 6 singles, Valeria San Miguel Soria put NCCU up 3-0 with a commanding win at No. 2, not dropping a single game.


Norfolk State def. Howard 5-2 BOX SCORE 

Norfolk State set the tone early by claiming the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 flights. Yuliya Yurkova and Yana Klimchuk earned a 6-3 victory at the top spot, while Regina Urbiola and Angelina Maniawska secured the point with a 6-2 win at No. 3.

In singles play, the Spartans won four of six matches to clinch the team victory. Yuliya Yurkova led the way at No. 1 with a 6-4, 6-3 win, while Julia Daroszewska earned a 6-2, 6-4 victory at the No. 2 position. Regina Urbiola added another point at No. 3 with a 6-3, 6-2 decision, and Yana Klimchuk sealed the match at No. 4 with a 6-4, 6-2 win.
