Bison duo earn doubles win against Lancers

TAKOMA PARK, Md. (March 25, 2026) – Howard University men's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to Longwood (LU) Wednesday afternoon at the Takoma Park Tennis Courts in Takoma Park, Md.
 
Third-year Bison Kendrick Lash (Winston-Salem, N.C.) rookie Marcus Weekes (London, United Kingdom) led the way, winning their doubles match against LU's Rufus Plane and Ninad Raut, 7-5.
 
Junior Michael Major Jr (Nassau, Bahamas) and sophomore Kamran McIntosh-Ross (Atlanta) served as the club's top doubles team where they dropped a tough 7-6 (10-2) contest to Longwood's Timeo Puech and Daniel Borisov.
 
Junior Shawn Mitchell Yon (Queens, N.Y.) newcomer Nathan Bermeo (Durham, N.C.) paired up in the No. 3 doubles slot, coming up short to LU's Alejandro Uribe and Daniel Lopez, 7-5.
 
After taking a 1-0 match lead into singles competition, Longwood won three contests in straight sets to claim bout, 4-0.  
 
Friday (March 27), HU welcomes Kennesaw State to the DMV. Match time is slated for 11 a.m., at Takoma Park Tennis Courts.
