MEAC Announces Weekly Bowling Honors

University of Maryland Eastern Shore’s Mariana Santos-Rivero was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Bowler of the Week, while Morgan State’s Alexandra Stephen earned Rookie of the Week honors.

Santos-Rivero (Sr., Cali, Colombia) delivered a standout performance over the weekend for the Hawks, ranking among the conference leaders in several key statistical categories. She ranked first overall in spare percentage (79.6), overall average per frame (22.14), baker average per frame (21.86), overall fill percentage (91.5), striking percentage (58.5), and baker-only fill percentage (90.0). She also finished ranked third in nine-count spare percentage (93.3).

Stephen (Fr., Chicago, Ill.) posted an impressive week for Morgan State, finishing ninth in overall average per frame (19.95) and traditional average per game (19.76). She ranked sixth in baker average per frame (20.23), seventh in overall fill percentage (83.7) and striking percentage (50.0), 12th in nine-count spare percentage (77.3), 10th in overall spare percentage (67.4), and fourth in baker-only fill percentage (83.3). Morgan State placed ninth at the eighth annual Mount Shootout, finishing 3–2 in Baker play and 2–3 in traditional team competition. The Lady Bears earned notable victories over Wagner, Molloy, Bryant, Mercyhurst, and Alvernia.
