BALTIMORE, Md. (Sept. 17, 2025)--This Friday, Sept. 19, 2025, the Morgan State women's tennis team will take a trip down the road to College Park, Maryland, to compete for the Bedford Cup, hosted by the University of Maryland.
The Lady Bears shined in their last contest at the Husky Invitational, hosted by Bloomsburg University, by dominating the singles competition. They finished with a 10-4 record on the day, winning three of the four divisions, with most of the victories coming in convincing fashion.
Morgan State's success was headlined by sophomore Tyler Williams, who swept the competition, winning both sets 6-0 in her two matches. Freshmen Damla Arslan and Julia Jeffrey also gave strong performances, winning all of their matches in the Gold Singles division.
The Lady Bears rolled through the doubles matches, claiming six victories. Behind electric performances from the tandems of Damla Arslan/Lauryn Hall and Marta Serra Carles/Roua Limem, Morgan State clawed their way to victory.
The Lady Bears hope to carry this momentum this weekend at the Junior Tennis Champions Center.
