BALTIMORE, Md. (Sept 18, 2025) - The Morgan State men's and women's cross country teams are on the road this weekend, traveling to Princess Anne, Md., to take part in the UMES Soaring Hawks Invite. The Bears look to build on strong performances from their most recent outing.

Last week, senior Aaliyah Headley paced the women's squad with a 7th-place finish in the 5k, crossing the line in 21:20.8. Junior Crystal Coke followed closely, earning 10th place with a time of 21:47.6.

On the men's side, Morgan State claimed a 2nd-place team finish with a combined time of 1:27:35, led by three Bears inside the top 10. Samuel Skinner clocked in at 16:57.0 for 6th place, while Caleb Mincey (17:06.3) and Nathanael Gebremariam (17:11.2) secured 7th and 8th place, respectively.

"Both the men's and women's teams showed progress this weekend, but we need to focus more on execution in the middle of the race and finishing strong down the stretch," said Morgan State head coach Neville Hodge.

With momentum on their side, the Bears will line up against competition from Norfolk State, UMES, and Delaware State at this weekend's event.
