ATLANTA, Ga. – Norfolk State running back Kevon King and wide receiver Kam'Ryn Thomas landed on the Black College Football Hall of Fame Player of the Year Preseason Watchlist, announced by the organization on Tuesday evening.

"The Black College Football Player of the Year Award honors the talent, dedication, and spirit of today's HBCU football players," Doug Williams, BCFHOF Co-Founder and 2011 Inductee said. "These young men uphold a proud legacy and inspire future generations to dream bigger and to always aspire for greatness."

The watchlist features candidates selected for their past performance and future potential. The BCFHOF will add players during the 2025 season, with finalists and the winner chosen by a selection committee.

King rushed for 944 yards and 10 touchdowns on 161 carries last season, earning All-MEAC Second Team honors. He ranked third in the conference in both rushing yards and touchdowns.

Thomas caught 25 passes for 387 yards and two touchdowns. He posted a season-high 98 yards against Florida A&M and scored touchdowns against Virginia State and Delaware State.

Both players received a spot on the MEAC Preseason All-First Team announced last month.

Norfolk State opens the 2025 season Thursday, Aug. 28, against Towson at 7 p.m. The game will air live on the ESPN family of networks from William "Dick" Price Stadium.
