DURHAM, N.C., May 17, 2025 – The Howard University softball team saw its postseason journey come to an end Saturday afternoon, falling 9-1 in five innings to Coastal Carolina in the NCAA Durham Regional. The Bison conclude the 2025 campaign with an overall record of 31-20, including a dominant 20-1 mark in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play.
Howard struck first in the top of the opening frame, as senior Alyssa Vasquez launched a solo home run over the left field wall to give the Bison an early 1-0 lead.
However, Coastal Carolina responded with runs in each of the next four innings, including a five-run surge in the bottom of the fifth to secure the run-rule victory.
