NORFOLK, Va., April 26, 2025 — The Howard University Bison have secured the 2025 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Softball Regular Season title, following a pair of victories over Norfolk State University, 10-2 and 7-3, on April 26, 2025. This triumph marks Howard's first regular season title since 2010.

With the pair of wins against the Spartans on Saturday, the Bison improved their conference record to 19-1, setting a new program record for conference wins in a season. Overall, Howard sits at 25-17 riding a 19-game winning streak dating back to March 29.

Their consistent performance throughout the season has earned them the No. 1 seed in the upcoming MEAC Softball Championship, scheduled for May 7-10 at the NSU Softball Field in Norfolk, Virginia.

Key contributors to the Bison's successful season include graduate pitcher Ameenah Ballenger, who was named MEAC Co-Pitcher of the Week after delivering a five-inning no-hitter, and freshman Lauryn Jones, who earned Rookie of the Week honors for her impressive .500 batting average with five runs scored.

The Bison have won every series in conference this season, the first time Howard has achieved the feat since 2010.

Howard University will commence their quest for the MEAC Tournament title on May 7. For more information on the tournament schedule and matchups, visit MEACSports.com
