NSU's Michael Vick Receives William A. Hines Jr. Role Model of the Year Award

HAMPTON, Va. – Norfolk State head football coach Michael Vick received a prestigious accolade on Saturday night, celebrating his lifelong impact in the Hampton Roads community.
 
The Virginia Peninsula Chapter of the 100 Black Men of America, Inc. presented Vick with the William A. Hines Jr. Role Model of the Year Award at the organization's 32nd annual Black-Tie Gala.
 
Recognized as the nation's top African American led mentoring organization, The 100 Black Men of America has made a commitment to delivering the education and empowerment needed to change the course of children's lives.
 
The Virginia Peninsula Chapter of the organizations provides a variety of educational, informative, and uplifting programs that teach necessary leadership and development skills to assist mentees and their families in realizing and maximizing their full potential.
 
Held at the Hampton Convention Center, Vick headlined the festivities with his individual honor. The impressive list of attendees included Virginia 3rd Congressional District Representative Bobby Scott.
