SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Lady Bulldogs of South Carolina State dropped two more at the Sparkle City Invite hosted by USC Upstate in Spartanburg, SC. 

SCSU fell 2-1 in the first game of the day against Eastern Kentucky, before dropping their second game 3-2 to the Wofford Terriers.

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore fell to Valpariso on Saturday afternoon at the Scotsman Invitational.

Delaware State def. Bucknell - 2-1 (10) - BOX SCORE

DOVER, Del. -- 
The Delaware State Hornets needed 10 innings to get the job done, but secured the 2-1 extra-innings win, walking it off on Bucknell's error with junior K. Evans at the plate to claim victory over the Bucknell Bison Saturday.

Freshman A. Fonollosa (1-0) picked up the victory out of the bullpen for Delaware State (3-0). The right-hander went three shutout innings while giving up one hit, allowing no walks and striking out one. Sophomore K. White also made an impact in the circle for the Hornets, starting the ballgame and throwing seven innings, giving up one run on three hits, with five walks and four strikeouts.

BALTIMORE, Md. (Feb. 22, 2025)--
The Morgan State softball team returned to the field on Saturday afternoon to host Fairleigh Dickinson (FDU) for the Lady Bears' home opener at Lois T. Murray Field. The game would be the Lady Bears' first contest in a span of eight days, in which a total of six games, including two home series, would be canceled due to inclement weather.
 
The Lady Bears, however, would drop the home- and series-opener against the visiting Knights, 1-0.

No. 16 Nebraska def. Howard - 13-1 (5) - BOX SCORE

CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. (February 23, 2025) –
Howard University softball fell to No. 16 Nebraska in five, 11-1, at the Mary Nutter Classic in Cathedral City, Calif.
 
HU (4-6) produced eight hits against the nationally ranked Cornhuskers, but only able to manufacture one run. Newcomer Lauryn Jones (Denton, Texas) led the Bison attack, going 2-of-3 with a run scored.
 
MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Preseason Pitcher of the Year Julia Holt (Tucson, Ariz.) earned the starting nod for HU where she held Nebraska off the board for the first two innings.
