Norfolk State def. Md. Eastern Shore - 75-63

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. --- The Norfolk State men's basketball team earned a hard-fought 75-63 road victory Saturday evening at the Hytche Center.
 
Brian Moore Jr. led the Spartans with 17 points, adding six rebounds and four assists to his totals. Jaylani Darden (16) and Chris Fields Jr. (13) also scored in double-figures in the win.
 
Redshirt freshman Jordan Leaks got the Spartans on the board first, following a steal and dish from Darden. NSU opened up an 11-0 run over the next five minutes with Terrance Jones capping the run off with a 3-pointer from the top right half of the arc.

Delaware State def. Howard - 90-69

DOVER, Del. --
The Delaware State men's basketball team continued their winning streak shooting  57.1 percent from deep on the way to a 90-69 win over the Howard Bison at home Saturday.

The Hornets (13-10, 5-3) had three players score in double figures, led by Martaz Robinson, who had 26 points and nine rebounds. Robert Smith added 23 points, four assists and three steals and Kaseem Watson helped out with 15 points and two steals.

Delaware State out-rebounded Howard 41-31 in Saturday's game, led by Robinson's nine boards. The Hornets also grabbed 15 offensive rebounds and scored 18 second chance points.

Delaware State forced 18 Howard turnovers while committing just eight themselves in Saturday's game. The Hornets turned those takeaways into 27 points on the other end of the floor. Smith's three steals led the way for Delaware State.

NC Central def. Coppin State - 71-59

DURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University men's basketball team earned a 71-59 victory on Saturday evening over Coppin State University in McDougald-McLendon Arena. The Eagles bounced back at home after two straight road losses.

Junior Po'Boigh King led all scorers with 16 points. Redshirt senior guard Aquan Smart also finished in double figures with 13 points without missing a shot (5-of-5). Senior wing Timmy Adedire had a team-high eight rebounds.

NCCU is now 11-14 with a 4-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference record.      

Before the ball was tipped, redshirt senior guard Isaac Parson was honored with a game ball for achieving his 1,000th career point earlier this season during MEAC play. With six assists in the contest, he also passed the 100 assists mark for the season and leads the conference in assists per game (4.5).

SC State def. Morgan State - 90-62

ORANGEBURG, S.C. — Graduate guard Omar Croskey tossed in a team-high 16 points to lead South Carolina State to an. 90-62, victory over visiting Morgan State Saturday (Feb.15) inside Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.

South Carolina State improves to 12-12 overall, 5-3 in the MEAC, while Morgan State falls to 10-14 overall, 4-4 in the league.

Freshman guard Jayden Johnson added 14 points and three (3) rebounds, while Drayton Jones added nine (9) points and six (6) rebounds in the win.

The Bulldogs dominated in several categories included points in the paint (38-34), points off turnovers (23-18), second chance points (21-12), fast break points (16-7), bench points (42-18) and rebounds (42-39).
