MEAC Announces Weekly Bowling Honors

NORFOLK, Va., February 12, 2025 – North Carolina A&T State senior Laura Garcia was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowler of the Week. Fellow Aggie Jasmine Hall was named the MEAC Rookie of the Week.    

Garcia (Sr., Cali, Colombia) helped the Aggies to a second-place finish at the Flyer Classic hosted by Lewis University collecting a 9-4 record with a total pin count of 14,314. Garcia finished ninth in the tournament averaging 217.20 pins per game, leading the Aggies with 1,086 pins on the weekend. She ranked first on the week in average per frame (22.11), traditional average per frame (21.72), baker average per frame (22.33), sum fill percentage (91.3), sum of striking percentage (59.4), sum of average first ball (9.28) and sum of nine-count spare percentage (97.1). 

Hall (Fr., Huntsville, Ala.) finished the weekend 11th as an individual with a total pinfall of 1,073 averaging 214.60 per game. Hall was ten pins shy of a perfect game knocking down 290 pins in Game 3. She ranked second in the MEAC in traditional average per frame (21.46), fourth in average per frame (20.92), makeable spare percentage (87.0) and sum of nine-count spare percentage (94.3). Hall also ranked fifth in baker average per frame (20.61), sum fill percentage (88.4) and sum of striking percentage (52.2). 

Other Top Performers 

Kayleina McGonigal (DSU) helped the Hornets to a sixth-place team finish at the Mount Shootout hosted by Mt. Saint Mary’s. Ranked fourth in the MEAC in traditional average per frame (21.20).
