MEAC MEN’S BASKETBALL WEEKLY HONORS PRESENTED BY WELLS FARGO

The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) has announced its Men’s Basketball Weekly Honors presented by Wells Fargo. Howard’s Bryce Harris has been named Player of the Week, Coppin State’s DeMariontay Hall earned Defensive Player of the Week, and Howard’s Jeremiah Johnson has been selected as Rookie of the Week.

Bryce Harris (G, 6-4, 220, Grad., Brentwood, N.Y.,) averaged 23.3 points and 7.0 rebounds across three non-conference games last week. He opened with a double-double of 26 points and 12 rebounds, shooting 44% (8-for-18) in a narrow four-point loss to Stetson. Harris followed with 20 points, five rebounds, one assist and one steal in a win over Niagara, and closed the week with 15 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals against Duke.

DeMariontay Hall (F, 6-7, 235, Sr., Atlanta, Ga.) totaled 14 rebounds, three steals and 22 points across two contests. He finished with 18 points, nine rebounds and two steals, just shy of a double-double, in a win over Central Penn. He added five rebounds and a steal against VCU.

Jeremiah Johnson (G, 6-3, Fr., Potomac, Md.) made a strong defensive impact, leading all players with seven steals in the win over Niagara. For the week, he posted 14 points, 13 steals, one rebound and one assist over three non-conference games.

Other Top Performers
Khouri Carvey (N.C. Central) averaged 16.0 points, four rebounds, four blocks, four assists and two steals in two contests.
Daveyon Lydner (Coppin State) tallied 11 points, two rebounds, three assists and one steal over two games.
Joseph Locandro (Maryland Eastern Shore) registered back-to-back double-digit outings with 18 points and seven rebounds versus Canisius and 16 points with two rebounds against Binghamton.
Gage Latimore (N.C. Central) averaged 17.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and eight assists in matchups against Toccoa Falls and Dayton.
Anthony McComb III (Norfolk State) scored 19 points with six rebounds against Wyoming.
Torrin Andrews (Coppin State) posted 20 points, six rebounds, six assists, five steals and one block in a 103–62 win over Central Penn.
