NORFOLK, Va., Jan. 27, 2025 – Norfolk State’s graduate guard Brian Moore Jr. was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola.
Howard freshman Blake Harper earned Rookie of the Week honors, while
Norfolk State senior forward Kuluel Mading earned Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively.
Moore Jr. (G, 6-2, Gr., Harlem, N.Y.) led the Spartans with 30 points, three rebounds and three assists in the 92-75 victory over Howard while shooting 11-of-18 from the field and a perfect 8-of-8 from the free throw line. He added 20 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, two steals and one block in the 105-42 win over Washington Adventist. On the week, Moore Jr. averaged 25.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.0 steals while shooting 64.3 percent from the field (18-28) and 86.7 percent (13-15) from the charity stripe.
Harper (G, 6-5, Fr., Washington, D.C.) averaged 14.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 1.0 steals for the Bison. Against the Morehouse, he tallied 13 points paired with six rebounds and eight assists while shooting 8-of-10 from the free throw line. Harper added 15 points and seven assists while shooting 7-of-9 from the free throw line against Norfolk State.
Mading (F, 6-11, Sr., High Point, N.C.) totaled 27 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks in a 2-0 week for the Spartans. He recorded a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds with three blocks against Washington Adventist. Mading followed with 11 points, two rebounds and two blocks in the win over Howard.

- Peter Oduro (CSU) totaled 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Eagles adding one assist and one steal.
- Toby Nnadozie (CSU) collected 11 points and five rebounds with three assists and three steals in an 0-1 week for the Eagles.
- Kaseem Watson (DSU) led the Hornets with 21 points, six rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal in a 1-0 week.
- Muneer Newton (DSU) tallied 13 points and nine rebounds with one assist and one block in the Delaware State victory over Maryland Eastern Shore.
- Ponce James (DSU) registered five points, one rebound and two assists for Delaware State against Maryland Eastern Shore.
- Marcus Dockery (HU) averaged 22.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 3.5 steals in an 0-2 week for the Bison.
- Will Thomas (MSU) led the Bears with 21 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals in the 80-64 win over Coppin State.
- Daniel Akitoby (MSU) registered 10 rebounds along with six points in the win against Coppin State.
- Melo Baines (NSU) recorded 16 points and eight rebounds in the Spartans win over Washington Adventist adding one block and one assist.
- Po’Boigh King (NCCU) scored 25 points while pulling down six rebounds with three assists shooting 11-of-13 from the free throw line in the win over S.C. State.
- Davion Everett (SCSU) tallied 12 points, four rebounds, one assist and one block in the loss to N.C. Central.
