BALTIMORE, Md. (Aug. 30, 2024) —
Morgan State senior men's cross country runner Perry Bennett and senior  teammate Davian Gray helped the Bears start the season off with top-10 performances to help capture the Baltimore Metro Meet hosted by Goucher College on Friday evening.

Bennet put together a strong performance as he crossed the finish line in fourth place with a time of 16:27.20 in the 5000m event. Not far behind Bennett, Gray claimed eighth place with a time of 16:59.96.

Morgan's strong showing at the meet was fueled by a powerful team effort, with freshmen Samuel Skinner and Caleb Mincey contributing significantly.  Skinner and Mincey secured 13th (17:24.42) and 14th place (17:24.86) finishes, respectively, and senior Rushshane Fullerton contributed with a t25th place finish (17:56.64) adding valuable points to the team total.

The combined efforts of these runners, and the rest of the Morgan squad, resulted in a victory with a final score of 64 points. Gettysburg fell just short with 67 points, while Stevenson finished in third with 103 points.

Morgan returns to action on Friday, September 13 at the Delaware State Sting Invitational in Dover, Delaware.
