NORTH CAROLINA CENTRAL
ATLANTA, Ga. – The women's tennis team finished with 64 points to secure third place out of 20 schools. Alabama A&M University and Hampton University finished in first and second, respectively.
Hidalgo Vega beat every opponent she faced in singles during the weekend tournament, winning the Singles A Flight Championship. She defeated Meiri Okuwaki from Hampton, 6-2, 6-1 in the final.
Freshman Gabriela Mejia Arenas earned an 8-3 finals victory over Natalija Nikolic from Alcorn State University in the Flight C consolation draw. In the B Flight for Doubles, sophomore Patricia Palencia and junior Valeria San Miguel Soria fell short in the finals 7-6 against familiar conference foes Camilla Mitolo and Eva Golembiovski of Delaware State University.

DELAWARE STATE
ATLANTA, Ga. – The Delaware State women's tennis competed at the HBCU National Tennis Championships. Camilla Mitolo and Eva Golembiovski won the women’s doubles Flight B championship title agaisnt LeMoyne-Owen College.
Mitolo and Golembiovski defeated MEAC opponents Patricia Palencia and Valeria San Miguel 7-6 in the first round to advance to the semi finals in a 7-5 victory against Alabama State’s Kesmat El Tawil and Ena Arnautovic. The Hornet’s faced LeMoyne-Owen College’s duo of Prerana Koirala and Camilla Martiano in a 6-3 victory in women’s doubles finals.
Kit Yi Kaye Au-Yeung and Lucia Casas Blas matched up in doubles to defeat Florida A&M’s Sara Rakim and Genesis Whitelock 6-3.
In singles play, Mitolo advanced to the semi-finals after a two set victory against Oihane Villanueva Lopez (6-2, 7-5).
Au-Yeung grabbed a two-set victory in singles play against Bethune-Cookman’s Jalayah Shaw (6-2, 6-1).

MORGAN STATE
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Morgan State women’s tennis team saw action at the HBCU Women’s Tennis Championship, compiling multiple doubles and singles victories. Hanna Smith and Roua Limem won the women’s doubles championship in Flight A.
Limem and Smith defeated Clark Atlanta’s double du0 6-1 to advance the semi-finals against Tuskeegee University’s Dayna Jackson and Gabrielle Geary in a 6-2 victory. The Bears went on win the women’s doubles finals against Tennessee State’s Reagan Harris and Larissa Cristina Silva in a 6-1 victory.
In singles play, Smith competed in Flight A with a victory against LeMoyne-Owen College Maud Tsaura in two sets (6-1, 6-0).
Roua Limem defeated Jackson State’s Kayleigh Didderiens in the Flight C semi-finals (6-1, 6-4).
In doubles play Aleksandra Evdokimova and Tyler Williams defeated Jackson State’s Paula Corbalan and Isabella Benavides in the quarter finals 6-3.
