NORFOLK STATE  

NORFOLK, Va. - Norfolk State volleyball head coach Kathy Bullock eclipsed her 400th career victory on Friday in the straight set victory over Sacred Heart. The Spartans split 1-1 for day one of the Buc Dome Invitational in Charleston, S.C. with a three set loss to Western Illinois.  

Norfolk State def. Sacred Heart 3-1 (27-25, 25-21, 25-18) 

Jordan Lyons notched 11 kills and nine digs. Gabrielle Gilbert also had 11 kills and a pair of aces. Sydney McCree matched Gilbert with two aces and posted 26 assists.  

Western Illinois def. Norfolk State 3-0 (26-24, 25-21, 25-18) 

Gilbert led all players with 15 kills while McCree posted 31 assists, seven kills, and three digs against Western Illinois.

HOWARD  

WASHINGTON, D.C.- Howard defeated Princeton in three sets at the Burr Gymnasium on Friday night.  This marks Head Coach Shaun Kupferberg's 400th career win.  

Howard def. Princeton 3-0 (25-20, 25-10, 25-15) 

 Leah Reeves recorded a season high double double 40 assists and 10 digs.  Rya McKinnon led all players with 15 kills.

MORGAN STATE  

FAIRFAX, Va.- Morgan State faced Gardner-Webb on Day 2 of the Patriot Invite on Friday afternoon and overcame a 2-1 deficit to defeat the Runnin' Bulldogs 3-2 at the Recreational and Athletic Complex on the George Mason University campus. 
  

Morgan State def. Gardner-Webb 3-2 (21-25, 25-23, 13-25, 25-19, 15-11). 
 
Mya Karrick finished with a match-high 32 assists and added nine digs, falling short of a double-double, while Daniela Ferreira finished with 17 kills and Aubrey Wilson totaled 10 kills in the win. Hannah Chappelle recorded a team-high 15 digs and Addison Metts fell shy of a double-double with 12 digs and nine kills. 

DELAWARE STATE 

DOVER, De. -The Delaware State women's volleyball team rallied from down two sets to none to earn a come-from-behind 3-2 victory against Harvard.  The non-conference victory improved Delaware State's overall record to 3-8 on the season. 

Delaware State def. Harvard 3-2 (24-26, 25-27, 25-23, 25-15, 15-13). 

The Hornets were led by double-doubles from both Valeria Otero, who had 10 kills and 17 digs, and Gerren Tomlin, who had 14 kills and 12 digs. Martyna Kmuk also added 13 kills to go with three blocks.

COPPIN STATE 

LARAMIE, Wyo. – Coppin State's volleyball team fell to University of Utah 3-0 on Friday night for day two of the University of Wyoming Invitational.  
  
Utah def. Coppin State 3-0 (25-14, 25-14, 25-21).   

TaKenya Stafford had a match-high ten kills hitting .304. Sophia Bertotti Metoyer added nine kills off a .563 hitting efficiency, and a pair of blocks.

SOUTH CAROLINA STATE 

Spartanburg, S.C.- The South Carolina State women's volleyball team dropped to Valporiso 3-0. 

Valporiso def. South Carolina State 3-0 (25-12, 25-22, 25-16) 

Kaia Barnett recorded double digit assists (14), as Hailey Harris led the team with seven kills.

NORTH CAROLINA CENTRAL 

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University volleyball team rallied back in the first match of the Queen City Invitational before dropping the five-set thriller to East Tennessee State University (20-25,22-25, 25-22,25-18 12-15) The Eagles closed out the day with a loss to the co-host school Queens University in three sets (24-26, 19-25, 23-25) at the Levine Center. 

In the first match, Kamren Harper finished with 19 kills to lead the Eagles' offense against the ETSU Buccaneers. Gabriela Felix-Baeza also pitched in with seven in the contest. Defensively, four players reached double figures in digs, highlighted by Felix-Baeza's 17 and 12 from Neira Joldic and Karolina Zubkova
