ORANGEBURG, SC---- South Carolina State All-Time Winningest tennis and MEAC Coach of the Year Hardeep Judge will participate in the coin tossing ceremony at the 4th annual HBCU Live event during the US Open programming on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.
HBCU Live at The US Open is a day-long activation during the first week of the US Open in NYC, highlighting HBCU culture and the contribution of HBCU graduates to tennis nationwide. The event includes HBCU DJs, performances, and influencer hosts, and features black-owned restaurants on the US Open grounds.
The HBCU Live Yard Experience will take place at Fountain Plaza, and this celebration of HBCU tennis and culture will feature an LED display highlighting notable HBCU history and history-makers, and musical performances by the Clark Atlanta University "Mighty Marching Panthers" marching band, along with headlining DJ and Clark Atlanta alum DJ Trauma, as well as DJ Nyla (Florida A&M) and DJ Jae Murphy (Howard University). Also taking place that day is a networking event and panel discussion for HBCU alumni and supporters on the role of HBCUs in building Black wealth, hosted in our private event space.
Judge who is enter his 23
rd year at the helm for the South Carolina State men's and women's tennis program has led both teams to historic runs capturing over 38 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championships between the two during his career.
He has earned numerous Coach of the Year honors as well as national accolades.
