MEAC Announces Updated 2024 Football Broadcasting Schedule

NORFOLK, Va., August 23, 2024 – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) has announced its updated football broadcasting schedule for the 2024 season. Fans can catch MEAC games across various ESPN platforms, including linear networks like ABC and ESPNU, as well as ESPN+, the premier sports streaming service.

The 2024 season kicks off with a marquee non-conference matchup in Atlanta, featuring the Cricket MEAC/SWAC Challenge on ABC during Week 0 (Saturday, Aug. 24). The season will culminate with the Cricket Celebration Bowl, also airing on ABC, on Saturday, Dec. 14.

Out of the conference’s 55 regular-season games, MEAC teams are slated to appear in 43 televised/streamed games across ESPN platforms. Five additional games will be on non-ESPN platforms, covering 87.3 percent of the schedule.

MEAC teams will be showcased in seven nationally televised games on ESPNU. Additionally, all conference matchups will be streamed live on ESPN+.
The MEAC ESPNU “Game of the Week” series kicks off on Saturday, September 21, when North Carolina Central hosts instate foe North Carolina A&T State. The following weekend, North Carolina Central and Norfolk State will face off in the Circle City Classic at Lucas Oil Stadium on September 28.

Oct. 26 marks the first of three MEAC wildcard weekends featuring a wildcard matchup to be announced in early October. The second weekend of the series is Nov. 9 and wraps up on Nov. 16 with one week remaining in the regular season. All matchups will be announced at least 12 days prior to the game.

Two conference games are scheduled to air on ESPNU on Thursday and Friday nights. North Carolina Central will face South Carolina State at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31, and Howard will take on North Carolina Central at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, in Durham, N.C.

The Cricket MEAC/SWAC Challenge Kickoff will feature Norfolk State against Florida A&M on Saturday, August 24. The game will be broadcast on ABC and simulcast on ESPN+ and ESPN Deportes, starting at 7:30 PM ET. Delaware State will also participate in Week 0, facing the University of Hawai’i in Honolulu, HI, on August 24.
