North Carolina A&T defeats Belmont Abbey in Arlington Regional Opener

ARLINGTON, Texas, April 5, 2024 – North Carolina A&T’s women’s bowling team defeated the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey College 2-0 in the opening mega-match of the Arlington, Texas Regional. 

The teams began the mornings match-up in the traditional format with the Aggies winning 933-856 lead by Chloe Newberry with a game-high score of 206.  

The Aggies continued to roll past the Crusaders in the total pinfall format collecting a 330-pin advantage through five baker games to advance to the second round of the championship bracket.  

N.C. A&T opened the total pinfall with a 66-pin lead, winning game one 221-155. In game two the Aggies added 34 pins (w, 226-192) to their lead going up by 100 total pins. The third game saw North Carolina A&T win by more than 100 pins with a score of 236-133. The final two games saw N.C. A&T win 190-113 and 202-153. 

North Carolina A&T will move on to face host Sam Houston State in the championship bracket.
