NORFOLK, Va., May 1, 2024 – Morgan State University clinched the regular season championship title after completing the 2024 MEAC conference schedule with an 18-3 conference record while going 30-17 overall.
2024 MEAC SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT BRACKET
This marks the fourth consecutive season that the Bears have claimed the regular season title and the second time in three years that MSU has recorded 18 conference wins. Morgan State will enter the 2024 MEAC Softball Championship Tournament as the number one seed.
Finishing second in the standings and securing the No. 2 seed in the MEAC Softball Championship Tournament is Howard University. Howard recorded their second 30 win season in the last three years collecting a 32-11 record while going 16-5 in conference play.
Coppin State finished the season with a .500 record (20-20) including 15 wins coming against conference opponents. The Eagles will be the No. 3 seed heading into the postseason tournament.
The reigning MEAC Tournament Champions, North Carolina Central, will enter the 2024 tournament as the No. 4 seed. NCCU went 14-7 against MEAC foes.
South Carolina State returns to tournament play for the first time since 2011. S.C. State will be the No. 5 seed after going 8-13 in conference action.
Maryland Eastern Shore secures the No. 6 seed after winning the head-to-head tiebreaker against Delaware State by winning two games in the final series of the MEAC schedule.
The 2024 MEAC Softball Championship Tournament runs May 8-11 at the NSU Softball Field on the campus of Norfolk State University.
