Seale Inks Professional Contract in Azerbaijan

NORFOLK, Va. - Norfolk State volleyball student-athlete Shonte Seale is headed overseas to play professional volleyball after signing with the Ganja Volleyball Club earlier this week.

Located in Ganja, Azerbaijan, the team competes in the Azerbaijan Women's Super League, which is considered to be among the top national leagues in European volleyball.

"When I first recruited TT her goal was to play professionally," Norfolk State volleyball head coach Kathy Bullock said. "She needed to define her skillset to play at the next level. She did all of the work, I just gave her the opportunity and the information to be successful."

An All-MEAC Second Team selection as a junior, Seale had 242 kills on 2.92 kills per set this season finishing with a total of 273.5 points.

"I am extremely grateful for such a great opportunity to go overseas and not only showcase but enjoy the talent in which God has given me in the sport I love." Seale said. " I am thankful for coach Bullock for never giving up on my skills and pushing me daily past my limits."

Seale led the Spartans to a 9-14 record, going 7-7 in the MEAC to finish in fifth place securing them a spot in the MEAC Volleyball Tournament for the third consecutive year.
