The University of Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks dropped Saturday's final non-conference game to Maryland, 81-66.
The Maryland Terrapins jumped out to early 11-2 lead while the Hawks managed just one field goal through the first five minutes before a 8-0 run by UMES narrowed the deficit down to one, 11-10, by the nine minute mark. A pair of Maryland dunks combined with a three-pointer put the Hawks back down by eight with just under six minutes remaining in the first half. UMES struggled to close out the first half going one of seven from the field in the final three minutes while the Terrapins went on a 13-3 run to take a 40-24 lead at intermission.

Saint Joseph's (A-10) def. Delaware State - 76-58
PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Kaseem Watson and Martaz Robinson combined to score 36 total points, but the Hornets fell to the Saint Joseph's (PA) Hawks 76-58 on the road Saturday.
The Hornets (7-7) had three players score in double figures, led by Watson, who had 23 points and three steals. Robinson added 13 points, seven rebounds and two steals off of the bench and Muneer Newton chipped in as well with 10 points and six rebounds.
Delaware State forced 16 Saint Joseph's (PA) turnovers while committing 13 themselves in Saturday's game. The Hornets turned those takeaways into 14 points on the offensive end of the floor. Watson's three steals led the way for Delaware State.

GREENSBORO, N.C. – In the 161st installment of the Eagle-Aggie Classic as part of the CBS Sports Classic: HBCU Showcase, the North Carolina Central University men's basketball team fell 85-72 at North Carolina A&T State University on Saturday afternoon in the Corbett Sports Center.
Junior guard Po'Boigh King finished with a team-high 21 points. Fellow junior Dionte Johnson and senior guard Keishon Porter joined King in double figures with 11 points each.
Head coach LeVelle Moton switched up the starting lineup as Isaac Parson, Floyd Rideau Jr., Perry Smith Jr., Kelechi Okworogwo and King were the first five Eagles to take the floor.

HAMPTON, Va. (December 28, 2024) — Freshman guard
Blake Harper (Washington) poured a career-high 34 points but only one other Bison reached double figures as the short-handed Howard University men's basketball team fell, 83-67, at Hampton University in the HBCU Showcase at the Hampton Convocation Center.
It was the Bison's second straight setback.
A 6-foot-8 freshman from Gonzaga College High School in D.C., Harper connected on 10-of-18 from the floor while also setting new career marks in free throws made (12) and attempted (15). The seven-time MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Rookie of the Week continues to show why he is regarded as one of the best first-year players in the country.
