 Saint Joseph's (A10) def. Howard 69-53 

PHILADELPHIA (December 20, 2024) – Freshman standout Saniyah King (Washington) poured in a career-high 23 points, but no other Bison reached double figures as the Howard University women's basketball team fell, 69-53, to St. Joe's in the Hawk Classic at Michael J. Hagan85 Arena. 
  
The loss was the second straight for the Bison (6-7) while the Hawks (8-2) won their third straight.

PENN (IVY) def. Delaware State 72-45 

PHILADELPHIA, PA --McKenzie Stewart totaled 10 rebounds, but the Delaware State women's basketball team fell to the Pennsylvania Quakers 72-45 on the road Friday. 

Stewart tacked on seven points and four steals to her 10-rebound game for the Hornets (3-9). Circe Rubio Remolar helped out with nine points and Kiarra Mcelrath chipped in with eight points.

North Carolina Central def. Winthrop (Big South) 76-71 

ROCK HILL, S.C. – The North Carolina Central University women's basketball team notched its first win of the season on Friday afternoon, closing with an 11-4 run to defeat Winthrop 76-71 in the Winthrop Coliseum. 
 
The Eagles head into the holiday with a 1-12 record on the season. 
 
Freshman guard Shakiria Foster  led the Eagles with a career-best 21 points, going 8-for-17 from the floor and hitting four 3-pointers. Sophomore guard Kyla Bryant  added 20 points for her second 20-point game of the season, to go along with five assists and three steals.

Mississippi State (SEC) def.  Maryland Eastern Shore 70-52 

PRINCESS ANNE, MD -- The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (4-9) gave Mississippi State (12-1) a tough battle through the first half, but the Bulldogs pulled away in the second to take a 70-52 win. 

For the fifth time in six games, UMES had different leading scorer with Mahogany Lester putting up 12 points against the Bulldogs.  Zamara Haynes posted her season-high for assists with six as the Hawks tied their season-high for assists with 13. Haynes has 27 for the season.
