Norfolk State def. Stony Brook (CAA) - 77-66

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Norfolk State men's basketball team closed out a six-game road stretch with a victory on Sunday afternoon, defeating Stony Brook 77-66 on the Seawolves' home floor.
 
Brian Moore Jr. scored all of his 18 points in the second half to pace the Spartans, shooting 6-of-7 from the floor and 5-of-6 from the free throw line. Christian Ings added 11 points and five assists, as Norfolk State earned its first win over Stony Brook since the 2017-18 season.
 
Jalen Myers set the tone immediately, scoring on the Spartans' first possession with a foul for a three-point play. Myers finished at the rim off a pass from Ings a few minutes later to push NSU ahead 5-2.

Morgan State def. Central Pennsylvania Coll. (Div. 2 - USCAA) - 123-70

BALTIMORE, Md. - Wynston Tabbs had a team-high 27 points and Rob Lawson added 20 to help Morgan defeat Central Pennsylvania 123-70 to snap the Bears 4-game losing streak on Sunday afternoon at Hill Field House.
  • Tabbs, who ranks as the MEAC's third leading scorer (17.5 ppg), shot an efficient 10-for-14 from the floor, including 3-for-5 from 3-point territory and a perfect 4-for-4 from the stripe. 
  • Lawson matched a career-high with 20 points (6-8 FG) off the bench with five assists and four rebounds. 
  • The Bears had seven players score in double figures.

No. 22 Xavier (Big East) def. South Carolina State - 71-68

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Omar Croskey led the Bulldogs with 16 points as S.C. State's second-half rally fell short to Xavier 71-68 in Cincinnati Sunday afternoon. 

Three Bulldogs scored in double figures, led by Croskey's 16 points. Michael Teal added 14, while Mitchell Taylor pitched in 11. 

SCSU bounced back from a rough first half where they shot 32 percent for 26 points, to shoot 51.7 percent in the second half scoring 42 points to outscore the Musketeers by three points (42-39).
