DURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University women's tennis team under the direction of head coach Sofia Rachi has released the 2025 spring schedule featuring seven home matches.
The Eagles are slated for 23 contests and open the season against two Atlantic Coast Conference opponents. Duke will host a doubleheader on Jan. 20 as NC Central plays the Blue Devils and closes the day with Virginia Tech.
Continuing on the road, the Maroon and Gray head to East Carolina (Jan. 31) and UNC Wilmington (Feb. 1). The Eagles return home to host a doubleheader facing Winston-Salem State and Chowan on Feb. 8. NCCU welcomes two more opponents as Furman (Feb. 14) and the University of Mount Olive (Feb. 15) make their way to Durham.
Seven of the eight upcoming matches will be on the road as the Eagles travel to UNC Asheville (Feb. 27), Longwood (March 1) and Hampton (March 2).
NC Central will spend spring break in Orlando, Fla. at the USTA National Campus battling with Quinnipiac (March 11), Niagara (March 12) and North Dakota (March 13). After returning home to host Wofford on March 20, NCCU travels to Radford on March 22.
This season NCCU will not be hosting the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Round-Up at Cary Tennis Park. Instead, the Eagles will travel to the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia area to face Delaware State (Mar. 28), Howard (March 29), Coppin State (March 29) and Morgan State (March 30). Other than the Delaware State match held at the Junior Tennis Champions Center in College Park, Md., the remaining matches will be held at the WTEF East Capitol Campus in Washington, D.C.
The Eagles continue conference play at South Carolina State (April 5) and host Norfolk State (April 12) before closing the regular season at home against Shaw (April 17).
The 2025 MEAC Tennis Championships will be held at the Cary Tennis Park as NC Central hosts on April 24-26 in Cary, N.C.
