ATLANTA, Ga. - The Bulldogs of No. 18 South Carolina State fell to the TIgers of No. 15 Jackson State in the 2024 Cricket Celebration Bowl in Atlanta, Ga.

The Tigers held the Bulldogs scoreless through three quarters, the first team to do so all season. S.C. State got on the scoreboard in the fourth quarter but ran out of time to catch the SWAC champions falling 28-7 to Jackson State.
After a scoreless first quarter for both teams, Jackson State put 14 points on the board in the second quarter taking a lead into the break.
Neither team found the endzone in the third quarter and it was Jackson State that scored first in the fourth taking a 21-0 lead with 14:48 remaining on the clock.
S.C. State broke onto the scoreboard following a three-yard run from Eric Phoenix following an eight play drive of 80 yards. Kyle Gallegos connected on the extra point kick putting the score at 21-7.
The Tiger added one more score to their tally to lead 28-7 at the final horn.
The MEAC holds a 6-3 lead in the Celebration Bowl, last winning in 2022 when N.C. Central defeated Jackson State 41-34.
